Hello!
I’m Karen.

WELCOME TO MY ONLINE BRAIN SPLASH - I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE HERE! GRAB A CUP OF COFFEE AND STAY AWHILE.

I'M A 2W3 WHO LIKES COFFEE WITH HER CREAMER, A GOOD BOOK, LONG WALKS IN THE SUNSHINE, + SPENDING RAINY DAYS CREATING NEW RECIPES IN THE KITCHEN.

My life in Atlanta is a little slice of heaven. I am a first-generation Indian-American who was raised in a home overflowing with love thanks to two extremely hard-working parents and an angel of an older sister, who I still probably annoy now just as much as I did back then. (It helps that our houses are just minutes away from each other lol). The best years of my life so far have come in increments of twos. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Georgia and founded Pop + Fizz, a small wedding planning firm that has brought me so much joy and relationships that I could not live without. Two years later, 2017 brought the rescue of my sweet pup Charlie, meeting the love of my life, Ryan, at a Halloween party at the dinosaur museum (you read that right) and the purchase of my cute one-story house that I continue to make a home. In 2019, Cheers For Good was born, a charity whose main focus is the repurposing of florals + food from weddings and events. The best part about what's next is that we get to find out together!

I started this blog as a way to document some of the very best moments of my life, but to also talk about some of the hardships that faith walked me through along the way. My hope is this becomes a place I can continue to come back to, year after year, and find memories that inspire joy, recipes that take me back to my mother's kitchen and books to get swept away in, all while still remembering where I came from.

I'm thankful you are here and encourage you to reach out and say hello!

I love making new friends and can't wait to meet you : )

FUN Q+A

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR HOME DESIGN STYLE?

01.

For years, I really thought I loved the modern, minimalist style. I adore that look on Pinterest and in my friends' homes. However, when I tried to replicate it in my own space, it really didn't feel like me. I would constantly feel overwhelmed because I'd never really pick items that felt cohesive. Whenever I'd see the minimalist option or the overly modern option, I'd end up selecting something warmer. I have now discovered that my home style is: Coastal + Modern French Country. I love flowy curtains, warm textures, soft neutrals with touches of french blue! I don't know how it took so long for me to realize, but I am so happy I did! Knowing your style is a game-changer and brings so much joy.

DID YOUR HOME COME RENOVATED?

02.

It did! Our home was built in the 1950s and has the original brick, hardwood flooring and windows. A remodeling firm purchased it before I did and painted the entire exterior, completely remodeled the interior from cabinets to paint to re-staining the hardwood. They also converted the carport into two additional spaces: one is my office + one is the laundry room!

DO YOU HAVE A CAT?

03.

Yes, Ryan moved in the Summer of 2019 along with his mischievous cat, Julius, who I am sure you will see around the page along with Charlie. They are for sure frenemies, but deep (deep, deep) down, we think they love each other.
